Sarah Jessica Parker revealed has been a bookworm since she was a child.
The Hocus Pocus star shared with PageSix that she is preparing for her upcoming appearance as a judge at a Booker Prize.
Currently, the And Just Like That… actress is reading two books a day she told the outlet at the PEN America Literary Gala.
For those unversed, the Booker Prize is a top UK award for English novels, judged by authors, journalists, and public figures.
“It’s intense to be reading (that number of books), the volume is kind of hard to convey, what it’s like to have as many books we are given the opportunity to read in a month…it’s quite something," Sarah said.
She noted that she was supposed to go last year too as a judge but could not make it due to her busy schedule.
"I knew this year I had a different kind of time available to me, to read morning till night," she shared, adding, “Any opportunity that exists to read, I’m reading.”
The Failure to Launch actress has had a reading habit since her childhood which was fostered by her mom and she has responsibly passed it down to her children.
“We always had a ton of books around the house and we were regular visitors to the library,” Sarah revealed. “We were not allowed to leave the house without a book in our hands, even when we were toddlers and couldn’t read.”
“She read to us constantly, so I did the same for my children, and they came to the same conclusion, which is (that) books are the greatest possible friends you could have," she added.
It is pertinent to mention that Sarah Jessica Parker has created a publishing imprint, SJP for Hogarth, in partnership with Molly Stern (Publisher of Crown and Hogarth), and the Hogarth editorial teams in New York and London.
