ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister, Pervez Rashid said that the government had initiated any action against Pervez Musharraf or the Swiss cases, but was proceeding according to the orders of the Supreme Court.
Speaking to Geo News outside Parliament House, Rashid said the government did not initiate any action against the November 3, 2007 actions of former president, General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, adding that even if there was a PPP government in power they would have also received the court’s notice.
The information minister further said that the government submitted its reply in the Supreme Court under the constitution.
He termed the apprehensions of former army chief Aslam Beg regarding the proposed trial of Musharraf as baseless and expressed confidence that all state institutions will work in their constitution ambit therefore there is no reason for any confrontation.
The Information Minister to a question said the government is making sincere efforts to overcome load shedding and assured that electricity tariff will not be increased until provision of smooth power supply to the people.
