KARACHI: The Pakistan People’s Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement held another round of talks over a proposed bill on local bodies system at the Chief Minister House here on Saturday.
Speaking to media after the talks, MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari said that the local government system should be according to the Constitution. He said that they presented recommendations to the PPP as per the article 140-A of the Constitution.
The MQM leader said that his party sought devolution of financial and political powers to the local bodies.
Mr Sabzwari expressed the hope that the PPP would take the MQM recommendations into consideration before tabling the bill in the assembly.
