The Princess of Wales has reportedly been receiving training for her future position to support Prince William, when the time comes for him to ascend the throne. Despite her health battle last year, King Charles has entrusted his beloved daughter-in-law with crucial roles to represent him in the reign.
On Wednesday, the Princess of Wales stood tall alongside the Prince of Wales in a stunning ensemble for the German State Banquet at Windsor Castle. While Kate stole the spotlight with her dazzling look, the most striking piece of her whole look for the headpiece which he debuted at the major event.
Kate wore the Oriental Circlet tiara was frequently worn by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Previously, Kate had worn her much-favoured Lover’s Knot tiara for several state banquets.
According to the Court Jeweller, Queen Victoria had explicitly mentioned it in his will that the tiara is meant to be worn by “only future Queens and Queens Consorts”.
It was a wedding present to Victoria from her father, the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, when she married the future King George VI in 1923. After Queen Victoria, the next royal to wear the crown was her daughter-in-law, Queen Alexandra.
