Prince William caught by urgent protocol message as Kate's Carol Service ends

Prince William has sent a heartfelt message to his close friend Kevin Sinfield on 6 December, following Princess Kate’s annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

The rugby legend is in the midst of his grueling “7 for 7” challenge, running seven ultramarathons in seven days across seven cities, in honour of his late friend Rob Burrow, the former Leeds Rhinos star who tragically lost his battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) last year.

Sharing his support on Instagram, he praised Kevin’s dedication: “Kevin, huge congratulations on nearing the finish of your incredible 7 in 7 challenge! Your commitment to Rob and everyone affected by MND is truly inspiring.

Thank you for shining a light on the need for research and support, and for the hope and example you bring. Look after those knees! W.”

William last saw Kevin when he opened the Rob Burrow Centre in Leeds just a few weeks ago, fulfilling a promise to Rob made during a CBE presentation in January 2024.

The future King also showed his love for football, cheering on Aston Villa via Instagram story.
