Crackdown against quacks in Karachi, four fake doctors arrested

KARACHI: Police on Thursday launched a crackdown against quacks operating in district east of the metropolis and apprehended four fake doctors playing with the lives of innocent citizens.

SSP East Javed Jiskani told Geo.tv that following several complaints from the public he ordered a survey to check the presence of quacks and unqualified individuals masquerading as medical practitioners.

Jiskani added, that eleven such practitioners were located operating in the district, following which multiple raids were carried out and four quacks were arrested.

Cases under relevant sections were registered against the four at the Tipi Sultan PS, while a cache of fake medicines recovered from their possession have been sent for chemical examination.

Jiskani added, that such quacks are playing with the lives of the public and many citizens have lost their lives at the hands of such criminals.

"They are more dangerous than terrorists," Jiskani told Geo.tv

The quacks arrested under section 417/420 of the PPC in FIR No. 244/2015 have been identified as Muslim Khan from Al-Shifa clinic, Wajid Ali from Zain clinic, Waseem Ali from Bismillah clinic and Allah Bux from Isha clinic.
