Elton John is proving that some of life’s biggest celebrations don’t need alcohol.
The music icon took to Instagram to mark 36 years of sobriety, sharing a joyful snapshot of himself raising a glass of his own non-alcoholic sparkling wine while reflecting on the journey that changed his life.
“36 years sober today,” Elton wrote. “Raising a 0% glass to life. Grateful for every single day.”
The post showed the EGOT winner smiling over an outdoor meal, with a chilled bottle of Elton John Zero Blanc de Blancs by his side.
Fittingly, he paired the celebration with his classic anthem I’m Still Standing, a song that has become as unofficial soundtrack to resilience.
The milestone also shines a spotlight on Elton John Zero, the alcohol-free sparkling wine he launched with husband David Furnish earlier this year.
Explaining the inspiration behind the brand, Elton previously shared, “Elton John Zero was born from a simple yet exquisite idea – to create a world where every moment of celebration can be shared by all.”
He added, “Our 0% alcohol Blanc de Blancs captures the elegance, effervescence, and joy of a traditional Blanc de Blancs, without compromise. Crafted with care and intention, it embodies the art of inclusion – inviting everyone to raise a glass, savour the sparkle, and share in the timeless celebration of togetherness.”
More than three decades after changing his life, Elton’s latest toast was not just to another year of sobriety–it was a reminder that he’s still standing, and still inspiring millions along the way.
