FDA has issued recall for more than 15,000 squishy toys identifying potential water bead fatal ingestion risk.

The recall is specifically for “Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toy” by OKK Trading Inc. and the “Squeezy Dumplings” sold on Amazon by Chenyuanhui.

Both products have water beads that can pose extreme risk to children’s body if swallowed.

In the recall notice, the Consumer Product Safety Commission clearly mentioned: “If a water bead is ingested, it can pose ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazard inside a child’s body, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and a risk of death to a child.”

Apparently, the squishy toys are translucent, round balls with cartoon faces, filled with glitter-like particles and water beads.

Around 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys (model D08004) were sold through various third-party retailers nationwide from May through August 2026. The front label reads “Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION.”

Additionally, recall affected 8,000 GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings that were sold on exclusively on Amazon.com from May through June 2026 for about $20. The label reads “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME.”

For now, no injuries have been reported yet but the authorities urged parents to take both toys away from children immediately.
