‘Culpa Mía' star Nicole Wallace is heading to racetrack for ‘Throttled'

Nicole Wallace and Josh Heuston are set for a high speech romance in Throttled.

The Culpa Mia star has been cast as the female lead in Prime Video’s upcoming romance, which is an adaptation of Lauren Asher’s bestselling Dirty Air series.

The Spanish-American actress will star opposite Josh Heuston, who plays rising F1 driver Noah Slade.

The 24-year-old will play Maya Alatorre, an ambitious young woman who joins her brother on the racing circuit and unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Noah, her brother’s teammate and fiercest rival on the track.

Their attraction comes with plenty of complications, setting the stage for a romance filled with speed, competition and plenty of off-track tension.

“Maya is smart and ambitious and I’m really excited to step into her world,” Wallace said of the role. “She is born into this sport full of speed and rivalry and, as a woman, has to learn to stand her ground and learn the ropes.”

She added that she was excited to work with Heuston and director Nzingha Stewart and for audiences to “feel the rush of this world.”

Interestingly, the casting feels particularly fitting for Wallace because Throttled isn't her first time stepping into a romance surrounded by roaring engines and racing cars.

Wallace became widely known through Prime Video’s Culpables trilogy, beginning with 2023’s Culpa Mía, in which she played Noah alongside Gabriel Guevara’s Nick.

The trilogy follows their complicated romance, with the story weaving in Nick’s passion for high-performance cars and illegal street racing.

That makes Throttled something of a familiar-but-new territory for the actress.
