Why Taylor Swift fans are convinced of 'letter theory' ahead of VMAs?

Taylor Swift appears to be preparing Swifties for a major announcement as she added a secret page to her letter to fans about the masters announcement, and they are convinced it is the Debut re-release.

The 36-year-old pop superstar is expected to attend the MTV VMAs on Sunday, September 27, and fans believe she could make an announcement there.

However, there's another layer to why the letter theory is so important to the Swifties. 

Back in 2006, when the 14-time-Grammy winner announced her self-titled debut album originally, she announced it via a letter on her Myspace.

Commenting on the emotional significance of announcing Debut again on its 20th anniversary in a similar manner, fans flocked to social media and wrote, "if she announces the debut anniversary album via letter on her website like she did 20 years ago on myspace with the og I will sob."

Another added, "i am feeling very extreme levels of unwell right now omg lmaooo," and "I am feeling very old and nostalgic right now. I may cry."

One chimed in, "stopppp," and "WAIT?????" wrote another.

While more noted, "oh my god you’ve so nailed it," and "it’s the last day of summer and Tim McGraw has a lyric about summer letters…"
