Patrick Clancy's deleted Reddit posts reveal family's struggle before children's murder

Patrick Clancy’s, the father of three unfateful children who died at the hands of their mother Lindsay Clancy, now-deleted Reddit account has shed new light on the mental state of his then wife years before she killed her children.

Posts linked to a since-deleted account belonging to Clancy offer a glimpse into the family's struggles as his then-wife Lindsay's mental health deteriorated after the birth of their third child.

The posts, uncovered after Lindsay's murder trial ended in a mistrial earlier this month, show Patrick discussing her treatment and trying to make sense of what was happening at home.

According to the New York Post, he wrote about Lindsay being prescribed Zoloft after initially experiencing what were considered relatively mild symptoms.

As things became worse, the couple sought more help.

Patrick's posts also touched on medications, doctors and the difficulty of finding something that appeared to work.

On January 24, 2023, Lindsay killed the couple's three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and eight-month-old Callan, inside their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home.

She later admitted to the killings.

The jury was divided on whether Lindsay was criminally responsible for murdering her children.

Her lawyers argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and had been overmedicated. Prosecutors argued she understood what she was doing and planned the killings.

After nearly six weeks of testimony and more than 38 hours of deliberations, the jury couldn't agree.

Eleven jurors ultimately supported finding Lindsay not criminally responsible, while one held out, resulting in a mistrial.

Patrick has since publicly defended the efforts made to get his former wife help before the killings.

The Reddit posts don't settle the argument over Lindsay's state of mind.

What they do show is that questions about her condition weren't raised only after three children were dead but Patrick was already looking for answers.
