Sindh jail staff protests officials killing

KARACHI: The staff in jails across Sindh is observing a strike against the target killing of two jail officials Monday, Geo News reported.

The infuriated employees of the Central Jail were wearing black armbands and staged a protest rally and chanted slogans.

According to jail sources, the prisoners were not allowed to meet their relatives while the staff did not present them in the courts today for the hearing of their respective cases.

Two superintendents of the Central Jail, Karachi and District Malir Jail were gunned down near NIPA Chowrangi late on Saturday evening.

The victims were identified as Assistant Superintendent of Central Jail, Pir Masood Jan Sarhandi and Suprintendent Malir Jail, Abdul Razzak Abbasi.

Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle had sprayed the victims’ vehicle with bullets near NIPA on Saturday night. Both the victims received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.
