KARACHI: Supreme Court’s Karachi registry will resume hearing of the Karachi Law and order case shortly, while the situation in the mega-metropolis city still showing no sign of improvement as the bloodshed continues unabted and only yesterday nine persons were killed including a doctor, Geo News reported.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had taken suo motu notice of Karachi law and order situation after 306 people were targetedly killed during July and August, 2011.
He had ordered the formation of a review committee headed by Chief Justice of Sindh High Court which was made responsible to prepare a report of the situation.
A five-member bench headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali will hear the case for three days in the light of the report submitted by the committee. Mr. Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Mr. Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani, Mr. Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Mr. Justice Gulzar Ahmad are included as other members of the bench.
