Magistrate testifies in Wali Babar case
KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Friday testified before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the murder case of Geo News reporter Wali Khan Babar.

Judicial Magistrate Central Nasrullah Korayi testified before the ATC set up in Central Jail. The hearing was conducted by ATC judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon.

He told the court that an eye witness had identified the five accused during the identification parade while an accused Shahrukh gave his confessional statement on his own will.

The magistrate told the court that the eye witness had identified all the accused including Faisal Mehmood alias Mota, Shahrukh, Navid and Muhammad Ali Rizvi while he could not have identified another accused Shakeel Malik.

The judicial magistrate told the ATC judge that Shahrukh had said in his confessional statement that he used to work with Faisal Mota as an estate agent who asked him to do recci of Wali Babar as he owed his money.

The megistarte said Shahrukh chased Wali Babar on motorcycle as he left his office on the day of his assassination. He kept informing Faisal Mota about the movement of Babar and as his vehicle reached to Liaquatabad Post Office he gave a signal to his boss.

The magistrate said that according to Shahrukh, an armed man opened six fire on Wali Babar.

The hearing was adjourned till November, 7.
