LAHORE: On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister, Rs500,000 each compensation cheques were provided to 60 affectees of Joseph colony, while reconstruction of destroyed houses of Christian community had also been started on Sunday night, Geo News reported.
Speaking to media here at Town Hall Lahore, Hamza Shahzab said cheques were distributed among 60 affectees, while 255 people would be provided compensation.
He said formal reconstruction of houses would begin in two to three days, adding action would be taken against the perpetrators after judicial inquiry of the incident.
On March 9 over 100 homes of the Christian community were ransacked and burnt by an angry mob after a resident of the locality was accused of blasphemy.
