ISLAMABAD: Congratulating the graduating students at the 49th convocation ceremony of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) here, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Monday said investing in future generations is vital in steering the country towards success.
“To this end, every individual, especially the educated professionals, have an enormous responsibility. It is my belief that today’s Fellows will rise and shine as the future of Pakistan,” said the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) according to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
General Raheel Sharif appreciated the College leadership for improving postgraduate medical education and health care services in the country.
The ceremony was held today at Jinnah Convention Centre in the federal capital and the COAS was chief guest on the occasion.
“Today, by the Grace of Allah Almighty, an environment has been created where fear and retribution from the terrorists and criminals has largely been reduced,” he said referring to ongoing military offensives to root out terrorism from the country.
“Relative security needs to be transformed into an enduring peace and stability for the Nation. A Whole of the Nation approach is important to bring our endeavors to a logical end.”
The COAS paid rich tribute to sacrifices of citizens and soldiers in achieving this state of stability and peace.
President CPSP Prof Zafarullah Chaudhry, in his welcome address, acknowledged the COAS for his ‘historical contributions and strenuous efforts for peace and stability of the country, his remarkable achievements against terrorism and for modernizing the health care system in Pakistan Army’.
