KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) Teachers Association Wednesday rejected the ‘Sindh Universities Amendment Bill’ and demanded to keep the Governor as the appointing authority of chancellors, registrars and other high ranking officials, Geo News reported.
Following the approval of Sindh Universities Amendment Bill by Acting Governor Agha Siraj Durrani, as many as 200 teachers during an emergency meeting of KU Teachers Association rejected the bill with one voice.
President of KU Teachers Association Mutahir Ahmed Shaikh said that a meeting of all Teachers Association of Sindh Universities has been summoned on Thursday in NED University. Vice chancellors and other officials will be attending the meeting.
