Sunni Ittehad Council cancels sit-in outside Jang/Geo office

KARACHI: The Sunni Ittehad Council has cancelled a sit-in that the religious party has planned to stage outside the office of Jang and Geo on Sunday.

SIC chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza said the issue of desecration of religion was sub judice and there was no justification to hold the sit-in.

He further said that Jang and Geo were vital for Pakistan and Doctor Amir Liquat’s services were also of great importance. He said another reason to cancel the sit-in was Shab-e-Miraj. Raza also lauded Geo and Jang for its services for media industry.

Anther leader of SIC Tariq Mehboob said that the sit-in was canceled on the appeal of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain. He said that security institutions were demanding an unconditional apology.
