ISLAMABAD: Pakistan lodged protest with India through diplomatic channels over the casualty of a 60-year-old civilian, Muhammad Aslam in the Rawlakot sector, caused due to indiscriminate firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday said that Aslam was a local farmer and was cutting grass 150 meters inside the LoC on the Pakistani side.
Condemning the incident, Pakistan called upon India to restrain its security forces from firing on the civilians, and stop the ceasefire violations across the Line of Control and the Working Boundary.
On February 11, mortar shelling by BSF severely injured a person whose house was also damaged in the incident.
