 ISLAMABAD: Ahmad Sarwar was the winner in the net category and Tariq Mehomood was the winner in the gross category of the 4th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Amateur Golf Cup Championship that concluded at Islamabad Golf Club here on Sunday. In the junior net, the winner was Minhaj Waraich. Ms Tehmina Ali Khan was declared the champion in the women’s category. In the seniors event, Raja Hafeez was the net winner and in the invitation category, M Afzal Tahir won the top honours.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir, who was the chief guest, said that Pakistan Navy was proud of having a long history of golfing and making significant contribution to the tremendous game.
“Golf was under focus in the Navy and I want its promotion,” Admiral Noman added. He said Margalla Greens Golf Club was being finalised in the federal capital.
