PPP-PML-N pact nothing but piece of paper: Nawaz
Updated at: 1615 PST,  Friday, July 03, 2009
LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said the agreement between his party and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is now left nothing more than a piece of a paper.

Addressing party workers here, he said if the Charter of Democracy had been put in force, the assassins of Akbar Bugti would have been behind bars.

The PML-N chief said his party is fully geared up to cooperate with the government, urging the government to fulfil all its promises.

The continuous load shedding has made the life miserable for the people of Pakistan, he added.

Commenting on Mumbai attacks, Nawaz said the government and establishment of Pakistan are not involvement in the terror episode played in Mumbai.

He also urged India to cooperate with Pakistan, adding Indo-Pak dialogues should be put back on track.

India always complied with the law and constitution, therefore, no dictator could ever dare to snatch the powers, he maintained.

On the occasion, he brushed aside apprehensions regarding the presence of Taliban in the Southern Punjab.

The country is still being run under the system left by the former President Gen (rtd) Pervez Musharraf, he said.

He added not mentioning the name of General (rtd) Musharraf, “The initiators of drone attack live in this very city.”

The PML-N leader said the lawyers and people of Pakistan have great role for the restoration of judiciary.
