KARACHI: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said Saturday that women being an important segment of the society can play a significant role in the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.
The women particularly those representing the political parties can motivate the female population in the collection of food items and other relief goods for the affected families.
They can use the system evolved by the provincial governments and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Gilani was talking to Faryal Talpur, MNA and chairperson of PPP Women Wing and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari who called on him at Governor House here Saturday evening.
The prime minister called upon women working in various NGOs to contribute in this regard and help mitigate the sufferings of women and children in the relief camps.
The task of looking after the affected families is enormous and women across the country should play their role, he observed.
