Pakistani passengers stuck at New Delhi airport; PM takes notice

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday took notice of more than 200 Pakistani passengers stuck at New Delhi airport after an aircraft of Gulf Air had developed some technical fault.

Advisor to the PM on Aviation Shujaat Azeem was directed to contact concerned authorities and arrange a special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight if needed, said a press release.

The prime minister also directed the Pakistan High Commission in India to look after the well being of the stranded passengers.

The Gulf Air flight GF-766 took off from Bahrain at 4pm on Sunday and was supposed to land at Lahore airport at 9pm, but due to thunderstorm the plane had developed a fault and was diverted to New Delhi.
