New gang of robbers preying on Karachi

KARACHI: After solving all four bank robberies in the city this year, the Sindh Police have a new gang preying on the city. CCTV footage aired by Geo News on Saturday was the third such heist by the same gang in the city.

The port city and economic hub of the country has witnessed double digit bank heists in recent years, believed to have been used to finance terror activities in Pakistan.

But this new gang isn’t looting Banks, their targets are butcher shops.

The CCTV footage shows the two gun toting men enter the butcher shop, one wearing a motorcycle helmet and the other trying to conceal his identity under a cap.

After depriving the butcher of his cash they proceed to select the best cuts of meat from the cold storage worth thousands of rupees, and leave with the cash prepared cuts.

The heist captured on CCTV camera took place in Nazimabad. Two similar heists have taken place in Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13D and Gulistan-e-Johar as well.

Due to similarities in modus operandi police suspect all three heists to be the work of one gang; the armed men hold up the butcher, deprive him of his cash and after calmly selecting their choice cuts make a clean get away.
