PTI files petition over Panama Leaks in SC

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Monday against the Prime Minister’s family for allegedly owning offshore accounts named in the Panama Papers.

Panama Leaks have become a concern for the entire public, the petitions states.

It is important the Supreme Court intervenes to begin investigation for Panama Leaks.

The petition adds that money from Pakistan has been illegally stashed away in offshore accounts.

The petition calls for the court to place the Prime Minister’s name in the Exit Control List.

Speaking to Geo News PTI leader Naeem Bukhari, explained the petition will now be sent to the Supreme Court registrar who will decide if a hearing will be held for it.

“The petition has been prepared keeping in mind prime minister’s May 16 speech,” he said.

The PTI has called for the disqualification of the Prime Minister, his son-in-law and Ishaq Dar.

“We are representing the public in court,” he said, adding that the PTI’s petition is different from that of the Jamat-e-Islami.

The petitions addresses the interior ministry, National Accountability Bureau, Law Ministry and Federal Bureau of Revenue.
