ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) session today is expected to feature heated debates over Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief's anti-Pakistan tirade.

The session today would likely see opposition parties bringing forth resolutions denouncing MQM chief's speech on August 22 in which he spoke at length against Pakistan and incited party activists at a hunger strike camp to violence.

Reports suggest that MQM Pakistan may itself present a resolution or favor one tabled by the opposition, against its founder. The party has already removed the name of its founder from its constitution and flags.

Before the NA session commences, a House Business Advisory Committee meeting will be held, which will be presided over by Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The meeting will focus on finalizing the agenda for the National Assembly session.

The MQM London, however, has refused to distance itself from the founder of the party.

Senior MQM leader Wasay Jalil yesterday stated that no resolution presented in the parliament against the MQM supremo would be tolerated.
