Five banned People’s Aman Committee offices demolished in Karachi

KARACHI: After demolition of several Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) illegal offices in Karachi, five offices of People’s Aman Committee have also been demolished in city’s Lyari area on Saturday.

According to police officials, the offices of were located in Lyari’s Baghdadi, Kalakot and Chakiwara localities.

They said that the offices were constructed on government land.

Police further said that all illegal offices of banned People’s Aman Committee would be demolished.

Meanwhile, three more MQM offices were demolished in the city which were constructed on government land illegally, according to Anti-Encroachment Cell.

Earlier Law Enforcing Agencies had decided to demolish all existing offices of the banned People’s Aman Committee after completion of a survey in Lyari, Yousuf Goth, Malir and Old Golimar areas.

More areas will be surveyed and offices of the banned organisation will be earmarked.

Party's leader Uzair Baloch, who had fled the country in 2013 at the start of the Karachi operation, was arrested and brought to Karachi from Dubai by Rangers in January this year.
