Pakistan will not be intimidated by Indian threats: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaurdhy Nisar Ali Khan said on Tuesday that Pakistan would not be intimidated by Indian threats. The interior minister stressed baseless allegations by India were a hurdle for peace in the region.

The interior minister met Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq and discussed Indian state oppression and human rights violates in Occupied Kashmir.

Nisar said human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir were a violation of United Nation resolutions. He added that the right to self determination of Kashmiris’ could not be suppressed by force and Pakistan would not step back from political and moral support of Kashmir.

Chaudhry Nisar’s meeting with the AJK PM comes at a time when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in New York to attend the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly and is meeting world leaders in an effort to shed light on Indian atrocities being committed in Indian occupied Kashmir.

In a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May, PM Sharif said the people of Jammu and Kashmir must be allowed to choose their destiny and that the longstanding resolutions of the UN Security Council on the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people need to be implemented.
