KARACHI: The much discussed controversy between two former captains of Pakistan Cricket team – Javed Miandad and Shahid Afridi – met its logical end on Saturday when both met in Karachi to end differences and clear the misunderstanding.

Javed Miandad and Shahid Afrid caught themselves in a controversy when Afridi commented that Miandad was always talking about money and in response Miandad accused Afridi of being involved in match fixing.

However, with efforts of some mutual friends, both agreed to meet and clear the air on Saturday.

The meeting, according to sources, took place at the residence of a mutual friend and both apologized to each-others for unwanted war-of-words.

“I have always maintained that Afridi is like my younger brother. I have said it before that it was heat of the moment, and from my side all the issue was finished,” said Javed Miandad.

“I said some bitter things about Afridi, I take my words back,” said Miandad while hugging Afridi.

Afridi immediately reacted and said “Javed bhai, you’re my elder and I never wanted to you to say sorry to me.”

The flamboyant all-rounder added that his fans and family was hurt by the comments and it is more than enough for him that Miandad has withdrawn his words.

The former coach also shared his grievances and said to Afridi that he was hurt by his comments aver money demands.

Afridi immediately apologized to his former coach.

“I say sorry to you if you’re hurt by anything I said,” Afridi said to Miandad.

Both the former captains exchanged sweets as well. Photos received by Geo News shows both Miandad and Afridi offering sweets to each other.
