ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan called the Prime Minister a 'security risk' for the country adding that every time his party plans to launch a protest something happens in the country.

He was speaking to journalists on Tuesday outside his Bani Gala residence.

He questioned the government over the steps it had taken after the Quetta Civil Hospital Attack in which over 70 people mostly lawyers lost their lives. "Terrorism and corruption are linked to each other," he said.

He added that the PTI has suspended all activities today to mourn the victims of the attack on a police centre in Quetta on Monday in which 61 security personnel were martyred.

Speaking about a report in Dawn newspaper which highlighted an alleged rift between the army and civilian government he said, "Why have informants of the security leak not been revealed? The Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq of this country should be revealed."

Senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi speaking to journalists refuted allegations that the Difa-e-Pakistan Council, which include some banned outfits, has been invited to the Islamabad sit-in. "We have not invited them. We only want people who want change in Pakistan to join us in the sit-in."

The PTI has called a sit-in in the capital on November 2 to protest alleged offshore accounts owned by the Prime Minister named in the Panama Papers. The party has threatened to block all state machinery.

Tahirul Qadri's Pakistan Awami Tehreek also joined the sit-in on Monday.

The protest comes as the Supreme Court is hearing PTI's petitions filed against the Prime Minister.

Imran Khan visits injured at Quetta Civil Hospital

Later in the day, Imran Khan visited the wounded at the Civil Hospital Quetta after the attack on police training facility that martyred 61 people.

On the occasion he also spoke to media and critisiced the local and federal government.

“If PM Nawaz had visited Quetta half the times he visited London, the situation would have been better,” he said.

Imran Khan asked Balochistan Home Minister Sanaullah Zehri about the details of 30 billion rupees lent for the province’s security.

He said the security lapse should be investigated and better measures should have been taken to curb such incidents.

Imran Khan also said that more attention should have been paid to the province.
