ABBOTTABAD/ISLAMABAD: Investigators have found computerised national identity cards (CNICs) of Junaid Jamshed and his wife, who died in the deadly PK-661 crash near Havelian on Wednesday, among belongings of other victims.

Along with CNICs, the investigators also found the handbag of late Junaid Jamshed's wife from the site of deadly plane crash. The hand bag contained two pictures of Jamshed and some other documents, which remained safe.

Officials of investigating agencies also found four gold bangles, three wrist watches, two gold rings among other belongings of passengers of the ill-fated flight.

All the things recovered from the site were handed over to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) authorities after sealing.

On Wednesday afternoon, the ATR-42 aircraft of the PIA crashed into the hillside near Havelian area of district Abbottabad, killing all 42 passengers and five crew members onboard.

Junaid Jamshed, once a Pakistani music icon who turned preacher, was also aboard the flight along with his wife.

Brother awaits body of Junaid Jamshed

Hamayyon Jamshed, brother of Junaid Jamshed, said he was awaiting handover of his body. "We are waiting for the DNA testing process to finish, so that we may think of his burial," he said.

Nine of the total 47 crash victims have so far been buried in their native towns. The relatives of 38 passengers are still awaiting completion of DNA identification process.

Possible causes of plane crash

Experts on Saturday said one of the engines of the ATR-42 plane had developed a technical fault and stopped, while the other engine started whirling in the opposite direction. Instead of pushing forth the aircraft, it began to exert a backward force on the plane.

The situation left the plane unable to glide and it hit the ground with 47 passengers onboard.
