Karachi to get a cab service run exclusively for women

KARACHI: A cab service with women drivers is set to launch in the city on March 8, Wednesday, when the nation will celebrate International Women’s Day.

 The private cab service exclusively for women will be seen on the streets on March 23rd, its Chief Executive Officer Zahid Sheikh told Geo News.

For now the company has a fleet of 10 cabs and five women drivers.

A representative of the cab company claims that the initiative provides women with means to earn a living.

Women cab drivers said they were excited to be part of the initiative adding that they have also achieved training for self defence.

Women can call the cab service by phone, a mobile app, SMS or simply hail one on the streets.
