Police nab 30 suspects in overnight Karachi raids

KARACHI: Police on Wednesday night apprehended 30 suspects including Afghan nationals during search operations in different areas of Karachi, they said.

The law enforcers conducted house-to-house searches in FC Area and Punjab Colony, and apprehended 25 suspected.

Meanwhile, Rizvia police conducted a raid in Kabli Bazar and arrested three Afghan nationals from there. The arrested suspects were identified as Akhtar Jan, Sardar Ali and Saifuddin.

The suspects, who were arrested on a tip-off, had illegally entered into Pakistan. They confessed to have gone underground since the beginning of combing operations in the country.

In another raid in Nazimabad area, two more Afghan citizens were rounded up. They were identified as Kashmir Khan and Bismillah.

Police have lodged a case against all arrested Afghan citizens under the Foreign Act.
