BIRMINGHAM: Aiming to get themselves fully prepared for the high-voltage ICC Champions Trophy match, cricketers from India and Pakistan underwent extensive training sessions at Edgbaston on Thursday.

Defending champions India, surrounded by a fresh controversy of rifts between coach and captain, underwent three-hour session in the nets.

India media suggested that team wasn't happy with the training facilities as earlier they were provided limited space for the nets, however there was no official confirmation to this development.

BCCI's secretary Amitabh Chaudhry was also present at Indian team nets and had words with team management, which appeared as his chat to defuse tension in the Indian camp.

However, when questioned by media, he tried to play it down by saying that there is no rift in the team and whatever is being said were rumours.

Pakistan team also underwent a training session that lasted for more than three hours.

Wahab Riaz, who was earlier struggling with niggles, looked better and bowled with full rhythm in the nets.

The team started its training with batting and bowling practice in net area, followed by fielding drills on main ground.

Team manager Talat Ali told Geo.tv that players are focused on match against India and he's hoping for a good contest.
