Fire erupts in department store on Karachi's Shahra-e-Faisal

KARACHI: Fire erupted in a department store near Star Gate on Shahra-e-Faisal in the city Thursday morning.

As per initial reports of the incident, the blaze was caused by a short circuit in a generator at the store. 

However, three fire tenders reached the site and were spraying foam and water on the generator. Rescue teams also rushed to the site, but no loss of life was reported till this report was filed. 

Firefighters were trying to control the fire that broke out in the generator room so that it does not spread towards the area where goods are kept.
