The untimely death of the legendary rock band Linkin Park’s frontman Chester Bennington has left music lovers in shock, prompting tributes from around the world for the singer who was found dead at his California home in an apparent suicide on Thursday.

Bennington allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his Palos Verdes residence in L.A. County, on the birthday of fellow rockstar and close friend Chris Cornell, who also committed suicide earlier this year.

Musicians and fans expressed their grief and shock upon hearing the news of his death. Bennington’s band-mate Mike Shinoda shared his heartbreak as he confirmed the news on Twitter.

The official Twitter account of the band Linkin Park paid tribute to the deceased singer with a caption-less photo of him.

Artists and bands worldwide, from One Republic to Avril Lavigne and from Meesha Shafi to Salman Ahmad, shared their sadness.

Rest in peace, Chester.
