ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted on Monday its detailed reply to the Supreme Court in the party’s foreign funding case.

The reply, which is 700-pages long, states the PTI leaders collected funds from people with dual citizenship, adding that funds received by agent company not illegal or foreign.

Reply further states that PTI Chief Imran Khan raised funds from abroad to ensure transparency. Imran Khan has submitted all the details to the Supreme Court.

Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz also raised funds abroad but the party leaders have yet to submit details of their funding, the reply states.

It further adds, the audit report of PTI accounts is a thing of the past.

Regarding the petitioner in the case, Hanif Abbasi, the report claims that his allegations aim to malign the party. The petitioner did not submit any concrete evidence to prove his case, states the reply.

Moreover, the reply also mentions that the petitioner claimed that PTI received funds from non-Muslims and foreign sources. These allegations by the petitioner seek to batter the minority community of the country. Minorities have played an integral role in Pakistan’s progress. Our constitution does not discriminate between Muslims and non-Muslims, the reply added.

The petitioner, Hanif Abbasi, who is affiliated with PML-N, had filed a petition claiming that the PTI chief should be disqualified for concealing his assets and receiving foreign funding.
