PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan declared on Thursday Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak ineligible.

It was learnt that Shah Mohammed Khan’s name was in the fourth schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, but he concealed the details from the authorities.

Shah’s brother Gulbaz Khan from district council Bannu was also disqualified earlier on similar grounds.

According to sources, both the persons belong to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

The Fourth Schedule refers to a list of “proscribed” individuals who are suspected of terrorism and/or sectarianism under Section 11EE of the ATA 1997.
