Early morning fog disrupts PIA flights in Karachi

KARACHI: A blanket of fog disrupted domestic flight operations for the national carrier on Tuesday forcing multiple flights to be delayed. 

Flights to Islamabad, Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan faced delays.

According to sources, Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-300 to Islamabad was delayed first due to fog and later due to technical reasons. Among the passengers on PK-300 was Governor Sindh Muhammed Zubair.

PK-300 which was scheduled to take off at 7:00 AM finally departed after a delay of 2 hours and 40 minutes. 

The airline’s spokesperson, however, told Geo News that the flight was first delayed due to fog and later because of four passengers who were not feeling well and had to be offloaded. 

Early morning domestic flights operated by private airlines also faced delays.
