RAWALPINDI: Malik Mushtaq Awan, Superintendent Adiala Jail, on Monday rejected all reports regarding model and actress Ayyan Ali being accorded special protocol at the detention facility.
He said, nobody came to meet Ayyan Ali nor did jail authorities serve her any special meals.
“Ayyan Ali ate from the jail menu and nobody came to meet her,” he explained.
He said the actress was being kept in the jail’s barrack allocated for female prisoners. According to media reports, on Sunday the famous model watched Pakistan-Ireland cricket World Cup match in the room of a senior jail official.
Earlier in the day, Special Customs Court dismissed Ayyan's bail plea, following which she was taken into custody and sent on a 14-day judicial remand.
Customs authorities had caught Ayyan Ali attempting to smuggle $500,000 to UAE, at the Benazir International Airport.
