ISLAMABAD: The Accountability court hearing former prime minister Benazir Bhutto murder case expressed anger on Tuesday when it emerged that transactions have been made from two of the frozen accounts of former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

The court’s judge Asghar Khan heard the Benazir murder case today, during which the Federal Investigation Agency presented its report.

The report stated that the former president and fugitive in the case Musharraf made transactions, despite the accounts frozen under the court orders.

The court expressed indignance over the matter and issued a notice to the relevant SHO and summoned a report until February 15.

The court also summoned a report about the details of the former president’s properties and accounts.

The ATC had earlier declared former president Pervez Musharraf an absconder in the case. The ATC had named Musharraf in the case in February 2011.

On August 31, 2017, an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi announced the verdict in the Benazir Bhutto murder case and announced 17-year imprisonment for two police officials — City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad. However, the high court had later granted them bail.
