KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday sought details from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding the ongoing inquiries in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.

During the hearing, SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh censured NAB investigation officer and prosecutor as they failed to satisfy the court regarding the accountability bureau’s inquiries which are currently under way.

The SHC CJ asked the NAB prosecutor regarding how many inquiries are ongoing, to which he said, “Several inquiries are under way.”

Justice Sheikh responded, “Give a statement regarding the number of inquiries that are ongoing. Some inquiries have been ongoing for the past two years. We will summon Sindh DG NAB.”

Expressing anger at NAB, the SHC chief justice remarked, “You are quick to drag people’s names through the mud but cannot finish inquiries even in two years. You come to court without reading cases, this will no longer go on. Submit details regarding all inquiries.”

The court then sought details of the inquiries ongoing in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
