Battle for supremacy in Hub Rally Cross 2019 to explode into action on Sunday

KARACHI: Battle for supremacy in the sixth edition of Hub Rally Cross 2019 explode into action at Max Dirt Arena on Sunday with fanfare a fierce competition with several young guns in the fray.

A hectic activity on Saturday saw 34 top drivers registered themselves for the different titles in a lucrative over Rs1 million prize money contest. Cash prize money has been announced for the first time in the event.

Participants have to race few rounds of the track to get familiar with twist, turns, bumps and conditions of the racing arena.

"Some highly talented drivers are to emerge on the scene," Chief Organizer Shujaat Sherwani told a group of reporters. This will be very boosting and encouraging for the motorsports," he added.

Unchallenged National Ladies Champion Tusha Patel likely to face some challenge from newcomer Salma Khan, who finished runners-up behind in Jhal Magsi Rally.

"Its good and encourging for the ladies. I am looking forward to it," Tusha Pate; who won every ladies title in Pakistan in the past decade.

"I have great respect for Tushna Patel because is experienced racing driver and ahead of me in many areas of the racing," Islamabad-based Salma Khan.

Another rising driver Shiraz Qureshi descrived as the best track in the country. "I have couple of rounds of Max Dirt Arena and found it very interesting and enjoyable, he said.

"We want to offer some incentives to the racing fraternity for securing top three positions this year," Chief Organizer Shujaat Sherwani told media press conference at the here at the Arts Council on Friday

He said they were thinking about this since the last year but now this is reality in the new year 2019.

"Our mission is to promote, support and provide plateform to experience and youthful drivers to show their skill in this exciting and thrilling sports," Mr. Sherwani said.

Track Manager Asif Imam said it was nice to racing drivers from across the country are featuring in this popular Rally Cross event.

Venue of the race Max Dirt Arena which is located 40-KM at the Sindh/Baluchistan Border is being upgraded for the racing event.

10-KM Muddy, Rocky, Deserted track with 12 twist and turns and four bumps will be big challenge for participants because of its uniqueness.
