FIA arrests one suspect involved in Hawala-Hundi business from Karachi's Saddar

The agency recovered Rs4 million in cash, cheques worth Rs15 million, laptops, and Chinese currency

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday night arrested one man over involvement in Hawala-Hundi business from the metropolis' Saddar area.

According to FIA officials, a raid was carried out in Saddar's Kohinoor Market that led to the arrest of one suspect. The detainee was identified as Mohammad Khalid, they added, and he is associated with a private trading company.

The raid was conducted by the FIA's Commercial Bank Circle (CBC).

In addition, the agency recovered money worth Rs4 million and cheques worth Rs15 million, as well as evidence linked to the Hawala-Hundi business in terms of laptops and Chinese currency.
