Nawaz unwilling to leave Pakistan: sources

ISLAMABAD. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has refused to leave the country and go for treatment abroad, said sources within the Sharif family on Saturday.

Family sources told The News that the former prime minister, who is suffering from various diseases and was admitted in Lahore’s Services Hospital, has said that he wants to get his treatment done in the country and is ready to face the music in Pakistan. They added that Nawaz is in good spirits and is fighting his ailment with courage.

Sources also say that the PML-N supremo despite his deteriorating health is hoping to get himself exonerated from the charges that he has been convicted off. They added that Nawaz has also decided to stay back in the country as he is confident that he will win the legal battle.

Family sources also said that the former premier’s eldest son Hussain Nawaz, who had visited Madina to pray for his father's health, will be arriving in London on Monday. Hussain has been monitoring his father’s health and is also in touch with British doctors who had previously treated the former premier.

Hussain Nawaz, Hasan Nawaz and their younger sister Asma spoke to their father soon after he was granted bail in the Al-Azizia reference, said the sources. They added that the three wanted their father to move to London for his treatment, however the former premier is satisfied with his treatment in Pakistan.
