KARACHI: Police and Rangers with the 24-hours active online monitoring through a network of control rooms would ensure foolproof security in the port city on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Special attention has been paid to make ample security arrangements to maintain peaceful environment in the city on Eid.
Sindh Police Chief, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah also held a meeting with Additional IGP Karachi, Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh who briefed him about security plan for Eid-ul-Azha.
Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has directed officials concerned to deploy additional police contingent at private and public sectors buildings, important offices, sensitive installations, airports, railway stations and bus terminals.
He has directed that besides, deployment of plainclothes security personnel, random snap checking, police picketing, patrolling and strict watch at all entry and exit points be ensured.
The Sindh Police Chief has directed the police officials to adopt extra-ordinary security measures at mosques, imambargahs, markets of sacrificial animals, public places, amusement sites, fast food chains, hotels and parking areas and also ensure deployment of policemen at same.
Wardens of the City District Government Karachi are already performing duties to assist the Traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic, particularly, in rush hours.
Karachi Police has set up a network of monitoring cells including a Central Monitoring Cell and eight control rooms in five districts in the city to control law and order and check incidents of hide snatching on Eid-ul-Ahza.
The Central Monitoring Cell can be contacted on 99212663 which will work round the clock.
