Muzaffargarh sub-inspector rape: Court remands accused into police custody for a day

MUZAFFARGARH: A local court in Muzaffargarh remanded the accused into police custody for one day in the case of alleged abduction and rape of a lady sub-inspector.

At the outset of the hearing, the police presented the arrested accused before the court at the completion of his three-day physical remand.

Maintaining that the accused, Kashif, has to be further interrogated, the police requested the court to extend his remand for seven days.

However, the court remanded Kashif into police custody for just one day.

Meanwhile, the magistrate of the local court recorded the statement of the victim under Section 164 (Power to record statements and confessions) of the Code of Criminal Procedure Pakistan.

Muzaffargarh woman sub-inspector ‘abducted, raped’

In yet another incident of violence against women that surfaced on September 5, the man, identified as Kashif, allegedly abducted and raped a woman sub-inspector.

Per a First Information Report (FIR), the sub-inspector was on her way to the Saddar Police Station to work on a case when Kashif abducted her in a car and took her to a garden near Chaman bypass where he tortured and then raped her.

Accused Kashif was arrested soon after the offence was reported and the car he used to kidnap the victim was confiscated.
