Minority seats should be increased: Akram Gill
ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Inter-faith harmony, Akram Gill said Sunday that the number of minority seats in the National and provincial assemblies should be increased.

While speaking to Geo News, Gill said a bill seeking an increase in the number of minority seats will be presented in the National Assembly on Monday.

The National Assembly has 342 seats out of which 10 are minority seats. In the Punjab Assembly there are 8 seats allotted for minorities, 9 in the Sindh Assembly, while there are 3 each in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

Gill added that the Federal Cabinet has already given approval for an increase in the number of minority seats.
