KARACHI: A railway employee and two other passengers were killed and more than 100 injured when two trains collided near Bin Qasim Railway Station, Geo News reported.
According to a passenger of a train, Millat Express was standing at Ghagar Phatak for signal clearance when Shalimar Express rammed into it from back.
DS Railway has confirmed the accident and feared causalities.
The DS said Millat Express was on down track when Shalimar Express hit it some 50 kilometers away from Karachi. As a result 2 to 3 bogies of Millat Express were derailed.
Relief and rescue teams have been initiated while railway traffic is suspended after the incident.
Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed has declared emergency in the hospitals.
Commissioner Karachi has confirmed death of only one person in the incident.
