COLOMBO: Australia defeated India by nine wickets in a group two Super Eights match of the World Twenty20 in Colombo on Friday.
The Australians raced past the modest target of 141in the 15th over at the Premadasa stadium.
Shane Watson hammered a 42 ball 72 with 2 fours and 7 massive sixes whereas DA.Warner remained unbeaten on an equally entertaining 63 off 41 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes.
Earlier India had been restricted to 140-7 by some tidy bowling from the Australians.
Australia join Pakistan, who beat South Africa by two wickets earlier on Friday, at the top of group two with one win each.
